i'm gonna be a working girl

that's right, starting monday august 31 i will officially be a working girl! not like you know a working girl working girl, but you know just the fact that i am a girl and will be working- haha.

i am very excited and it is a great opportunity. plus, i will be working at the hospital where my husband works. which means lunches on him.woohoo!
i must say though that i never thought i would ever work in a hospital. i hate hospitals. i despise everything about them. the look. the smell. the sick people, ewww! looks like i'm gonna have to just get over it i guess.

so anyways, back to the good stuff... like shopping. i haven't worked in an office setting for about 5 years. when i was teaching my wardrobe was pretty lax, i always looked professional, but you know it was professional on a different level. like i could get away with knee length shorts and blouses where as now it will be back to wearing stockings and closed toe shoes. plus, i'd be lying to say that i could actually wear my dress suits from my marketing days, i mean my arse isn't exactly the same size it used to be. i'm just saying.

so, i have been shopping, shopping, shopping! i bought one pair of black slacks, a pair of chocolate brown slacks, and also a pair of brown corduroys (just because), a pair of navy slacks, black & white pinstripe pants, and a new black pencil skirt. I also got several light-weight short sleeved cord sweaters and a few button-up blouses. I still need to find some new comfy black dress flats and a new pair of dark brown heels (my current pair hurt my feet) so any suggestions in this area would be great. once i find my new shoes and pick up a few more little things i will be ready to go.

Girl check out Off Broadway or DSW for shoes. I buy a lot of mine there because they aren't expensive. I'm hard on shoes and have to replace them a lot!!! I can't wait to hear all about the new job & your summer tomorrow. YAY for lunch on the hubby too. :) XOXO

Congrats! And getting to see your husband over lunches is great, too. As for shoes, although they are super expensive, the Cole Haan Air {technology from Nike whateverness} shoes are SUPER comfy & still pretty. Tory Burch Revas are great, too!

Congrats on the new job!
I can see what you mean about working in a hospital, but at least you get to dress up!
DSW is great, but also Piperlime online has a really good selection and price range. It's part of the Gap empire, so just go to Gap.com and there's a link.
good luck!!
