Friday's Fancies :: Go CARDS!

Today I am linking up with {av} over at {long distance loving} for this Friday's Fancies :: March Madness!
I'm sure you may have noticed that we are big Louisville Cardinal fans... we did just fly to NYC so my sweethubs could watch them bring home the Big East Championship! Woot! Woot!

The CARDS played beat Michigan State last night and are now moving on to the Elite 8 and will face off against the Florida Gators this Saturday, March 24 at 4:30 EST.

For March we have had uncommonly warm weather (which I am not complaining about one bit) so my choice of outfit will be some white denim shorts, a 3/4 length CARDS tee, and of course my silver sparkley (party on my feet) TOMS! Let's GO CARDS!

{leopard love}

on tuesday i wore this fun leopard skirt with a black turtle neck, black tights and black flats!
i have been trying for two days to get this post up but have been having issues with blogger... which is also why i did not do a weigh-in wednesday post yesterday but don't worry hopefully i'll be back tomorrow to catch up on a few things, i'm not sure what the issue with blogger was but now it's working so here we go...

i have a serious affection for most anything leopard print...i have lots of leopard accessories... purses, belts, scarves and shoes! some may ask, is there really a need to have leopard heels, leopard flats, open-toed leopard heels, leopard sperrys???  um, yeah... i think so! those leopard sperrys with the black patent are my latest new additions to la closet and i love them! they are so cute and fun! reminds me of once when we were moving my husband was unpacking one of my shoe boxes and asked why it was necessary to have 15 pair of black flip flops (okay that may be an exaggeration, may be) but every girl knows you need fancy black flip flops and wedge flip flops, beach flip flops, and so on and i think most girls know what i am talking about here so anyways... i love shoes and i love leopard print!

friday fashion {it's raining, it's pouring}

i don't think i have ever been excited to wake up to a rainy day until this morning. it is a dreary day here in KC but i am all smiles in my casual friday fashion wearing my new zoubaby monogram boots that my sweethubs got me for christmas! as soon as i saw these awesome equestrian style rain boots in my Southern Living holiday issue they were quickly added to my wish list! and i would say my attraction was a southern thing... but i have already had at least 5 people stop me to ask "where did i get my boots"! they are seriously eye catching! i was drawn to them for the classic monogram and their sleek equestrian style knowing they would be perfect to take on trips back to KY for Keeneland. The spring meet runs in April... hello! April showers! so it does tend to rain quite a bit during the race season, in fact it rained the weekend i went back last April so yeah, now i'm ready!

Here is my casual friday fashion:

i am wearing a simple black long sleeve tee and a casual school-boy blazer with a black skirt over black leggings. simple but classic. accessories: Michael Kors runway watch, black Kendra Scott danielle earrings, black patent Kate Spade stevie bag

{month of love} update: i am on day 3 and have not given in to any temptations yet! i am confident (according to the scale) i have made my 2 lb loss goal for the week already! the real test will be this weekend, luckily we are staying home alone for the superbowl so no party food to worry about.
hopefully, knowing i am reporting all of this publicly i won't fall prey to any soda or sugar this weekend!
my confidence and willpower are high right now, i just have to keep it up!

Festive Holiday Attire {fashion friday}

One of my dear friends had a Christmas Party this past weekend and it gave me the chance to add a little sparkle to my attire! I mean let's face it, I just don't get fancied up like I used to so it was nice to curl my hair and paint my nails and put on a fun skirt with gold sparkles!

You can never go wrong with black & gold, it's classic and chic! And the red nails is the perfect pop of color! I would love to be able to pull off a red lip too but I've tried and it just ain't happening girls!

  I am in love with my new phone, I get a kick out of my new bestie Siri, she always has a quick come back. Do you have the new iphone? Do you like to drink tea? I picked up this Candy Cane Lane (Green Tea -decaf) the other night at the market and am loving it! Don't let the "Green Tea" title scare you away if you normally don't dig the green teas, just try it! Here are a few of the ingredients: peppermint, orange peel, vanilla, cinnamon, and blackberry leaves. I love Celestial Seasonings teas and this one does not disappoint, it is also gluten free!

Oh yeah, this is happening tonight! Okay, I must be honest, it's happening but only because I'm taking my daughter and one of her friends. I really haven't had a big interest in this series but I've heard this one is really good, so we'll see if I become a Twi-hard! LOL! My friend is also going with me and my daughter has already made a point to say... "y'all aren't going to sit near us, are you?"  Ahh, I love my twi-hard teen!

Hello & Goodbye

Hidy Ho... I'm back!

It seems I unexpectedly took a blogging hiatus... so much has occurred over the past few months that I wouldn't even know where to begin to recap so I think I'll just start new and fill you in on what's happening in my life right now!

I didn't intend on being gone so long and it seems summer is over and fall is here! It has just gotten plum chilly here in the midwest {KC}! I have already gotten out my boots & scarves and it seems I might need to break out my coat after today's blustery high of 54 degrees! But actually, I'll put that off until next week because I am jetting off to LA baby! That's right this time tomorrow I will be soaking in some much needed sunshine and warmer temps! I can't wait to step off that plane!

I know I'm a little late to the fall party posts but I love fall, it's my favorite time of year so I'd like to leave you with a few items on my fall wish list...

I am searching for the perfect red cord, I may end up ordering these.

I also want a new gold watch, I am so into gold right now, I love the elbow patches on this sweater.

I can't get enough shoes with tassels right now! Those red ones are from Forever 21 but sold out... BOO!

Have you smelled the new scent BCBG Max Azria?  Next time you're at the perfume counter try it! It's divine, totally love it!

Okay, I need to get off here and finish packing and hopefully it won't take me 3 months before I post again.
